Terms of Use

Effective Date: September 5, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Stonebridge Investigative Group website and its content.

This website is operated by Stone Bridge Investigative Group, LLC, doing business as Stonebridge Investigative Group (“Stonebridge,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the website.

Website Purpose

This website provides general information about Stonebridge, our background screening and verification services, and resources relating to employment background screening.

Information provided on this website is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice, employment advice, or a guarantee regarding the results of any background screening or employment decision.

Use of this website alone does not create a client relationship with Stonebridge.

Background Screening Services

Stonebridge provides professional background screening, verification, and related services to authorized clients.

Certain services provided by Stonebridge may constitute consumer reports or investigative consumer reports subject to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) and other applicable federal, state, or local laws.

The use of Stonebridge's screening services is subject to separate agreements, certifications, authorizations, and other requirements as applicable.

Nothing contained in these Terms authorizes a person or organization to obtain a background report.

Permissible Use of Screening Services

Stonebridge provides consumer reports only for purposes permitted by applicable law.

Clients requesting employment background screening may be required to certify, among other things, that they:

  • Have a legally permissible purpose for requesting the report;

  • Have provided any required disclosure to the individual;

  • Have obtained the individual's required authorization;

  • Will comply with applicable pre-adverse and adverse-action requirements; and

  • Will not use information in violation of applicable federal, state, or local law.

Stonebridge may decline, suspend, or terminate services when we cannot reasonably verify a permissible purpose or when we believe a request may violate applicable law or Stonebridge requirements.

Employer Responsibility

Stonebridge provides information to assist clients in making informed decisions. Stonebridge does not make hiring, promotion, termination, retention, or other employment decisions for its clients.

Employers and other users of Stonebridge reports are responsible for determining how information may lawfully be considered and for complying with applicable employment, anti-discrimination, consumer-reporting, privacy, and other laws.

Information contained in a background report should not be interpreted as an automatic recommendation to hire or not hire an individual.

Accuracy of Information

Stonebridge takes reasonable measures designed to promote the accuracy and integrity of information provided through its screening services.

Background screening information may originate from courts, government agencies, employers, educational institutions, licensing authorities, public records, third-party information providers, references, and other sources.

Source records may occasionally contain errors, omissions, delays, incomplete information, or information that later changes.

When the FCRA applies, Stonebridge maintains procedures designed to meet applicable requirements concerning the accuracy of information included in consumer reports.

Consumers who believe information in a Stonebridge report is inaccurate or incomplete should use our Consumer Rights & Disputes process.

No Guarantee of Results

A background screening reflects information reasonably available from the sources searched at the time the screening is conducted.

Stonebridge does not guarantee that a screening will identify every record or piece of information that may exist concerning an individual.

The absence of a record in a report does not guarantee that no such record exists.

The scope and availability of records may vary based on jurisdiction, source availability, applicable law, identifiers provided, record accessibility, and the screening services requested.
