Where applicable, Stonebridge provides consumer reports only for legally permissible purposes and maintains procedures intended to promote the accuracy and integrity of information reported.
Employers and other clients requesting reports are responsible for complying with their own obligations under applicable law, including obtaining required disclosures, authorizations, certifications, and consents before requesting a report.
The FCRA places obligations on both background-screening companies and employers. Among other things, consumer reporting agencies must maintain reasonable procedures designed to assure maximum possible accuracy, while employers generally must obtain permission before procuring an employment report.
